DRR Mainstreaming, project activities demonstrate substantial progress across training, planning, institutional coordination, and field-level implementation:
- Capacity Building and Workshops: A refresher training on DRM policy, DRM mainstreaming, and the multi-hazard impact-based early warning roadmap achieved its target of 1 round (100%), as did the training on gender mainstreaming in DRM, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding (1 round, 100%). The DRM/Project familiarization workshop also reached 100% completion against its 1-round target. Meanwhile, the planned Training of Trainers (ToT) on automated WDRP development and DRR planning for regional, zonal, and woreda experts has a target of 1 round, with achievements not yet recorded.
- Risk Profiling and Strategic Planning: Woreda Disaster Risk Profiling exceeded expectations by achieving 3 woredas against a target of 2 (150%). Woreda DRR planning reached 2 woredas against a target of 3 (67%, recorded as 75% in the table). Mainstreaming DRM activities into sectorial plans fully attained its goal across all 8 planned woredas (100%), encompassing 2 focal and 6 non-focal woredas.
- Implementation and Institutional Support: Direct DRR implementation was carried out in 1 woreda out of 2 targeted (50%), with the second noted as being at the starting stage. Establishing or strengthening woreda-level steering and technical committees achieved 100% (2 out of 2 woredas, specifically focal woredas Uba D.Tsehay and Abala Abaya). EWS technical backstopping with universities fulfilled its target of 1 university (100%), with a TBS expert currently on work.
- Monitoring and Contingency Mechanisms: Implementation monitoring rounds to both focal and non-focal woredas reached 50% completion, with 6 out of 12 rounds conducted. Lastly, contingency fund implementation/activation remains pending across 2 planned units, noted as waiting for higher decision.
